About me

About Trevor Carrithers

Thanks for checking out my page! I originally launched this site to host my job search after being impacted by the unprecedented economic recession caused by the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Now that the economy has stabilized and so much of our lives are spent online, I'll be using this personal site to highlight my past accomplishments, current interests, and host my online identity indefinitely. My main areas of interest are finance, technology, healthcare, and politics and wherever the crossroads of those interests meet.

I am currently a Business Analyst on the Business Development & Strategy team at Audigy Group, where I provide Audiology practices, ENT clinics, and Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) clients with consulting, financial, and strategic advisory services.

I'm also recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where I double majored in Economics & Political Science (B.A. in Aug. 2019). I tried to structure my undergraduate studies to include a broad spectrum of life experiences, key among them:

  1. Interning for Congressman Mike Doyle in Pennsylvania's newly redistricted 18th Congressional District, during the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.

  2. Interning for a Private Equity Search Fund, financed by and located in Carnegie Mellon University's Project Olympus Startup Incubator — with the immense privilege of being on the team that led to the fund's first acquisition.

  3. Studying abroad in London, England during the height of the Brexit debate, primarily focusing on the politics and financial implications of the UK's abandonment of future EU integration (and a lot of traveling, too!)

  4. Interning as a Financial Analyst with Highmark Health's for-profit subsidiary, HM Health Solutions, where I helped in assessing the pricing, profitability, and investment decisions of the firm; while exploring the realm of high-growth B2B SaaS sales.

  5. Studying and grinding out two majors with a focus on becoming an educated generalist — graduating with the satisfaction that I challenged myself to grow whenever and wherever I could.

Now I'm trying to connect with as many people as possible through the Wild West of the Web as the world grows to be more interconnected. If you'd like to know more about how I built this site and the justifications for it, please continue reading down this page. Otherwise, check out my most recent Resume & Curriculum Vitae by clicking here and consider reaching out with any current job prospects or additional contacts you might have to offer if something sparks your interest.

About this website

This site is my first venture into the world of "no code" website development. The entire website was developed and hosted (for free) on Google Sites, using no custom code of my own. The domain name was purchased through Google Domains, which only costs $12 a year. In today's evolution of the internet, you can't beat that value.

I chose Google Sites development for two reasons: cost and efficiency.

After graduating from Pitt at the tail end of 2019 and relocating back to my home in Southern California, I worked as a financial analyst in the valuation industry until I was impacted by the unprecedented economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Laid off in April of 2020, I found myself equipped with a University degree and 6 months of full-time work experience — all the while facing down the worst job market since the Great Depression and the most serious global health crisis since the 1918 flu pandemic.

Needless to say, money was tight, and under quarantine... my time was abundant. In my unemployment, I found myself thinking:

  1. I need a competitive advantage in marketing myself to potential employers.

  2. There has never been a better time in my life to launch a website.

With these two things in mind, and being a value conscious consumer, I researched my options for creating my own website as a landing page for my online identity. After comparing my options, I sourced the development platform that would provide the most value and ease of use for publishing my first website. And now, If you google me, hopefully this is where you'll land! This site is a testament to the power and value of Google Sites. I can't recommend it enough — please reach out if you need any help or tips in setting up your own.
